DOS and DON’TS

 

Do:

See your doctor regularly so that he or she can provide us with a full report on your condition.

Tell us if you visit a new doctor, chiropractor or physiotherapist for treatment of your injuries.

Keep us informed of any important changes in your medical condition.

Save any cast, collar, brace or other device that has been used in your treatment. These might be helpful if your case goes to court.

Keep us advised of any change of your address, phone or work information.

Save any receipts for any expenses related to the accident or your injuries (drugs, taxis, repair bills, etc.).

Contact Human Resources Canada to see if you qualify for any employment insurance benefits.

Send us copies of any photographs pertaining to your case.

Provide us with the names, addresses and phone numbers of any witnesses to your accident.

Contact us if you have any questions or concerns about your case.

Provide us with details regarding any benefits provided by your employer.

 

Don’t:

Speak to anyone about your injuries or your accident except your doctors (or other health care providers) and your lawyers. If an ICBC adjuster wants to speak with you, tell the adjuster that you have a lawyer, and provide our contact information:
